I was so excited to photograph Baby Sadie last week (is that not the best name ever!). She is the beautiful result of a wedding that I had the privilage of shooting about 5 years ago. It was an honour to meet her and catch up with her lovely parents. I love seeing how love and life progress; its a beautiful thing :)
With my hectic schedule these days I dont have the time that I used to have to post tons of photos on my blog. However, I just HAD to share these with the Irons family because it was their 10th wedding anniversary the day we shot these… and think they are just way too adorable to keep to myself. When they told me they were going to have family photos done on this special day, I insisted they bring this amazing red chair that I had eyed up at their home a few months ago. I instantly fell in love with it and knew it would be fabulous with what I had envisioned in this crazy head of mine. Not only is it gorgeous, its an heirloom, which I think is so special to incorporate into your photos!
I hope you had a FANTASTIC trip to Banff all alone…without these three gorgeous girls!! LOL.
I cant begin to even explain how crazy busy I am this week. I cant complain, because being a working photographer is what I dreamed of and asked for! So tonight after supper, after being asked a million times…I agreed to let the boy put on his halloween costume. One look at the ham and I was grabbing for my camera and running him down the road to catch some setting sun :) The child just makes me laugh…and after such a busy week and feeling a bit ‘artistically drained’ I put the clown in my life to work. OMG. he kills me.
I love fall. It truly is my favorite time of year. I was married in the fall…my beautiful child was conceived in the fall….and the colors are superb for photos in the fall!!
We’ve all been enjoying the gorgeous weather in Calgary this week, and I couldnt be more happy – Because this the busiest time of year for me. Everyone seems to want ‘fall family photos’! But as we all know, this combination of golden leaves and nice weather is very short. This next two weeks I will barely see my family and may appear dishevelled and sipping on coffee alot. I apologize in advance…
I could not be happier that Tanis called me and agreed to shoot these photos at Sunset. Its such a gorgeous time of day to shoot..and as you can see..the kids seemed to love it too :) I know this can be tough with little wee ones, but great if you have older kids that don’t succumb to the fateful “witching hours” (oh yah, all you moms out there know what Im talking about!) These two kids were the best – and a great start to this crazy week! Enjoy.
This past weekend was my first attempt at a ‘marathon session day’. WOW. WOW…and one more WOW. I couldn’t have asked for a better group of ladies to photograph. You ladies were so FUN and you let me be my crazy bad-mouthed self! LOL. The hair and make up was outstanding – as I knew it would be :) and I have to mention how super the Hotel Arts was to deal with…SO helpful and accommodating.
So, I wish I had taken some ‘before’ photos. Not for any other reason than to show other ladies what is possible and how glamourous you can be…even if you dont necessarily feel it when you’re still in flannels dropping your kids off at school! I hope all my ladies left the hotel a wee bit more confident than when they arrived…cause they were total model material! You have these images to prove it…
Im excited to post this session because I know how surprised mom will be with all the great images we captured of her growing family. I have known the Filans for a good 6 years now…and Ive been honored to photograph both of their pregnancies. Enjoy your little sneak peek and the remaining quiet time before number 2 arrives.
