this past weekend seemed to be filled with successful women and their headshots! I had the pleasure of meeting and photographing Monika Siebert, a well known interior designer from Calgary who is internationally known and extensively published http://monikainc.ca.  We were able to utilize a few different areas of her beautifully designed home (of course!).  I absolutely loved shooting in here;  its so nice when you dont have to dodge the 70’s brown velvet couch and green shag in a clients house :)   enjoy!

Beauty & Brains…

I think its pretty funny how crazy I am about Photography sometimes.  Those of you who know me, know I can get pretty excited and just cant put the camera down.  This is exactly what happened when Wendy contacted me about doing headshots for her USA real estate mentoring service www.usproperty101.com.  okay…yes you can laugh now, because these photos are certainly not what you’d expect.   Actually we took some amazing business headshots in a few different locations. 

After our ‘formal session’ was done, we were hiking back through this field of flowers – and seeing as how gorgeous and gregarious my friend Wendy is….I made her drop and give me 20! HA  Actually, we were chatting about my upcoming boudoir session day that Im planning, which I insist she take part in (I absoutely LOVE photographing her – she totally knows how to work it!!)   Since the work was done, I suggested we do some beauty shots of her.  She can be the inspiration to all those women out there that need to feel glamorous, even if just for 1/125 of a second :)

Did I mention that this drop dead gorgeous woman is a mom of FOUR young children and runs her own business?  Im not sure how she does it all…and still looks like this :)

Helicopter Park | Lisa McDonald Photography

Today I somehow found myself back in my old neighborhood – West Hillhurst.  I had lived there throughout my childhood, and have so many fond memories of the ol’ hood.  

There was a great neighborhood celebration as they formally opened “Helicopter Park”.  Wow, its fantastic.  Trust me, with a little boy in tow, Ive been to many a park…and this one absolutely rocks!   Part of the celebration included the arrival (and departure) of the STARS air ambulance.  What a great thrill for all the kids.  To be honest…it was pretty cool for us parents as well.  We had such a great day at the park, followed by an impromtu waterslide party at a friends home down the road.  It made me miss my old neighborhood even more :(    Thanks to all the hard working organizers who made this day so fun for us all!

It was so nice to get a family together with grandparents, kids and grandkids.  Luckily we were able to get a big family photo before the 2 little ones decided to venture on!  Wow…Im pretty sure these two didnt stop once. Thank goodness for a fast shutter speed!! HA Thanks again for braving the pollen at the park (Aargh!); I know you all enjoyed having your family together regardless :)
