I spent this past week in the crazy city of Las Vegas with 10,000 of my closest friends :) Ive been to Sin City many times, however this was my first time at the WPPI (Wedding & Portrait Photographers Intl.) Convention. OMG. It was information overload. Ive come back a new woman people! I was one of 10,000 photographers gaining insight, inspiration and a renewed love for our craft. I heard some amazing speakers and saw some great new products that I cant wait to share with my clients.
Of course no trip to Vegas would be complete without the complaint of sore feet. Who made this place so damn BIG? I find it so curious that all us ladies love to doll it up in LV, pack the most unreasonable (albeit lovely) shoes, and then a day in…you see herds of us walking around limping, barefoot, toes draped with bandaids and the vow of never drinking again! Learn from our tootsies – pack running shoes girls. but lets make them cute ones of course.
So I had the great pleasure of travelling with two fellow photogs, friends and all round great ladies; Michelle of www.whatisee.ca and Sharon of www.valleyportraits.ca. How cute are these girls. Good times were had by all :)
So, being that there was 3 of us…yes, thats right 3 photographers…do you think we actually took any photos while we were there (besides drunk bathroom pics posted above)?! Well, we wouldn’t have had we not forced ourselves out of shame one hour before leaving for the airport. We hit the strip. Because I packed light I had one fixed lens and one camera body. I cursed at not having a zoom, but my shoulders thanked me. In the true spirit of geekness, here is what I did capture.
